The facial expression of the mother tellls something. Maybe apprehension?

Again. The facial expression. It’s as if something bad will happen to her after entering that door.

Sculpture by Rizal. I love how it conveys a story. It’s called “Revenge of a Mother” or something like that.

The Manunggul burial jar. This sculpture is important because it’s a proof of the pre-Hispanic Filipino’s belief of the afterlife.

First thing that crossed my mind after seeing this: I hope that this Arch was materialized. Like the arches in Paris.

I never thought you can use jade plus bronze as a medium. Impressive.

Would you believe that this is a coconut grater? Well it is!

I saw this piece at the National Museum. Mindanao Muslim art is so nice.  Very minimal trace of western influence as Spain was not able to control this part of the Philippines wholly. Thus, they were able to more or less maintain their culture.

I sometimes wonder what it would be like if the Philippines wasn’t colonized.
